Tattoo after care

Studio GUS Tattoo is a clean, professional tattoo studio which always uses disposable and sterilized materials. Here are some instructions for your tattoo care.

By following these simple instructions, your healing process should be quick and easy.

WITH STERILE ADHESIVE MEDICAL BANDAGE

  • Leave the bandage in place for at least two days (48 hours).
  • Remove your bandage and clean thoroughly without rubbing with an unscented mild soap. Wash your tattoo once a day only.
  • Once your tattoo is clean, sponge dry it with a clean towel and apply an unscented moisturizer (DOVE, AVEENO OR LUBRIDERME). Repeat the application of cream three times daily for ten days.

N.B. If you experience a burning effect, you can apply polysporin cream.

WITH SARAN WRAP BANDAGE OR OTHER …

  • Leave the bandage in place for at least four hours, remove and clean your tattoo under water with mild unscented soap.
  • Pat dry with a clean towel. DO NOT RUB.
  • Apply a very thin layer of ointment recommended by the artist (polysporin cream) three times a day for two days.
  • From the third day, apply an unscented moisturizing lotion three times a day (DOVE, AVEENO OR LUBRIDERME) for ten days.
  • Do not reapply the bandage. Unless prescribed by your tattoo artist, if so he/she will explain the procedure to follow.

N.B. You are responsible for your healing, it is important to understand that the first two days your skin is a direct entry to bacteria. Keep it safe from contamination. Every tattoo artist has their tattoo care guidelines and they are usually all good, but it is important to follow the instructions of the person who tattooed you, because only that person knows how his work heal. It is perfectly normal during the healing process that there is itching but it is imperative NOT TO SCRATCH OR REMOVE THE SCABS. DO NOT follow someone else’s advice. However, a reaction is always possible but not desirable so PLEASE contact us directly at Studio GUS Tattoo: 514-379-1117, if you notice any redness, pimples, difficult healing (large scabs) or any other sign that seems to you unnatural
